Second GPS RO Data Users' Workshop

Hosted by the The COSMIC Project of the UCAR Office of Programs and the NESDIS Office of Research and Applications (NESDIS/ORA).
With the upcoming launches of FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC and METOP/GRAS, the era of operationally available GPS radio occultation (RO) data for Numerical Weather Prediction, Space Weather Monitoring, and Climate Studies is imminent. We are pleased to announce the Second GPS RO Data Users Workshop, to be held in Lansdowne, VA, August 22-24, 2005.
Location: The workshop will be held at the National Conference Center

The workshop will compose of both invited and contributed
presentations. Ample time will be set aside for open discussion on
topics of general interest to the participants. A detailed program agenda
will be provided before the end of July 2005.
Topical sessions at the workshop will address the following themes:
- GPS RO Mission Status Reports
- Recent Advances in RO Techniques
- Retrievals of Geophysical Parameters
- Data Management and Quality Control
- Data Assimilation and Impact Studies
- Climate Applications
- Space Weather Applications
The deadline for the
workshop registration is 21 July 2005. Participants who would
like to give a presentation should submit a one-page abstract before this date. Notification of acceptance for presentation at
the workshop will be provided by 31 July 2005. There is no registration fee for this workshop.
Please use
the online form to register for the workshop as well as submitting
the one-page abstract. The fee for the workshop is $185/night including room and board OR $55/day for food. This includes three meals per day as well as coffee breaks. After registering, please fill out the two forms posted to the left, and fax/mail them to the National Conference Center. The fax number and address are posted on the forms themselves.
